A brief overview of the fourth day of our 6-day visit to these beautiful islands at the end of December 2019.
Day 4: Birgu, Valletta

We left our Airbnb in Żebbuġ and headed up north in the directions of Birgu or also called Città Vittoriosa (Victorious City). Birgu is an old fortified city on the south side of the Grand Harbour in the South Eastern Region of Malta.
The city occupies a promontory of land with Fort Saint Angelo at its head and the city of Cospicua at its base. Birgu is ideally situated for safe anchorage, and over time it has developed a very long history with maritime, mercantile and military activities. The day started with some light rain, which caused the streets to glare up and make for some interesting photography. The harbour is also a fantastic place to make some nice photographs and be amazed by all the big yachts.
We had lunch at the Chill Cafe & Restaurant before leaving to Valletta. They had some great beers and Illy coffee and we had an amazing beef hamburger. We had to be in Valletta in the afternoon and bring our stuff to the new Airbnb in Floriana, which is near Valletta. Luckily we still had some time to do a small walking tour in Valletta during golden hour and have some snacks and drink some local craft beers from Lord Chambray Brewery at 67 Kapitelli.
Afterwards we returned to our Airbnb and got ready to celebrate New Years Eve and welcome 2020. I did not bring my camera but I got some blurry iPhone shots to compensate. I got home at around 5:30 AM, a bit drunk..
